February
- February 5: The EAM Youth Movement is founded during the Axis occupation of Greece.
March
- March 14: The Axis powers impose upon Greece a "loan" for their expenses in occupying the country. The loan was estimated in 1993 to be equivalent to US$9 billion of that time. The Axis powers promised to repay the loan "in the future".

September
- September 12: The Greek submarine Papanikolis put the commandos ashore at Kokkini Ammos, Rhodes who, with the help of two local men - Nikos Savvas and Georgios Kyrmichalis, made their way to the airports at Kalathos and Maritsa, where they destroyed German war planes.
October
- October 23: Greek units take part in the Battle of El Alamein.
November
- November 11: Greeks in Istanbul are subjected to the Varlik Vergisi by the Turkish Parliament.
- November 25: Guerrilas from both EDES and ELAS blow up the Gorgopotamos Bridge used by Germans to supply Gen. Rommel's Afrika Korps.
- November 30: Submarine Papanikolis, under Lt. Nicholas Roussen, sinks an enemy communications ship.
December
- December 15: The British destroyer HMS Petard and Coast defense battleship Vasilissa Olga sink the Italian submarine Uarsciek (620 tons) south of Malta, towards the area of Benghazi, Libya.
