Giorgos Skartados is a former Greek footballer of the 1980s - 1990s era.

Skartados was born on April 7, 1960 on the island of Rhodes. He was a very versatile footballer who started out as a defender for Rodos FC in 1978.

In 1982, Skartados transferred to PAOK Thessaloniki where he played the following ten years. With PAOK he won the league title in 1985 contributing in defence, the midfield or the forward line as the need arose.

In 1992, Skartados transferred to Iraklis. In 1995 he joined Olympiakos where he ended his career in 1997.

Over all, he played 478 games in the Alpha Ethniki scoring 108 goals.

Skartados was capped 26 times by the National Football Team of Greece with three goals to his credit.

After his playing days were over, Skartados coached a number of clubs including Trikala FC, Rodos FC and Apollon Larisa .
