February 21: Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos resigns after a series of disagreements - mostly focused around entry into World War I - with King Constantine I.

April 2: The Greek-American daily National Herald commences publication in New York.

May 31: Eleftherios Venizelos' Liberal Party wins 185 parliamentary seats (out of 316) in the national elections.

September 10: The government of Eleftherios Venizelos declares general mobilisation throught Greece.
September 22: Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos again resigns after a series of disagreements with King Constantine I.

October 3: Greek PM Alexandros Zaimis rejects the British proposal to enter World War I for Cyprus as a reward.
October 5: Entente allies land in Thessaloniki.

December 6: Eleftherios Venizelos and his political allies boycott the national elections, resulting in the election of a largely royalist Parliament.
