Atromitos Athens are a Greek football club, founded in Athens in May 1923. In 1933, the club moved to the suburb of Peristeri, merging with Neos Asteras and acquiring in the process its new emblem: the blue star. Atromitos contested the first championship ever played (1928) as champions of Athens and have had good runs in the past in the local Athens championship prior to the establishment of the National Championship in 1959. Since then, they have had a few seasons in the A' Division (1973, 1975 - 1977, 1981) and returned in 2005 as part of their merger with Chalkidona. They have since been relegated but were promoted again in 2009.

On March 16, 2011, they qualified for the final of the Greek Football Cup for the first time in their history after eliminating Olympiakos Volos (2-1,0-0) in the semi-finals.
