• 1828: Ioannis Kapodistrias appoints Petrobey Mavromichalis, Georgios Kountouriotis, Spyridon Trikoupis and Andreas Zaimis to his cabinet.
• 1835: Kyriakos Serfiotis is sworn in as the first mayor of Piraeus.
• 1975: CIA Station Chief Richard Welch is assassinated outside his villa in Psychiko. A previously unheard of organisation called the "Revolutionary Organization 17 November" takes responsibility.
