- 2000: Pyrros Dimas wins gold in weightlifting at the Sydney Olympiad. It is the third consecutive Olympiad that Dimas wins gold, a feat accomplished previously only by Naim Suleimanoglu.
- 2023: Maria Sakkari defeats American Caroline Dolehide 7-5, 6-3 to win the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico.
