- January 7: The mutilated corpse of builder Dimitrios Athanasopoulos is found. This, one of the most heinous crimes in Greek annals, was later discovered to be the work of Athanasopoulos' wife and his mother-in-law.

- September 13: A powerful earthquake rocks the island of Euboea.

- October 3: Turkish PM Ismet Inonu visits Athens.
- October 9: Salaries of Public employees are slashed between 4% and 6%.
- October 17: Metropolitan of Kition, Nikodimos Milonas, calls for protests throughout Cyprus against British policies on the island.
- October 21: Thousands of Cypriots march on the governor's mansion in Lefkosia and set it afire.
- October 31: PM Eleftherios Venizelos recalls Consul General Alexis Kyrou from Cyprus. The Greek consul had shown open support to the Cypriots protesting against British rule.
