- 1922: The Armistice of Mudanya was signed between Britain, France, Italy on the one hand and Turkey on the other.
- 1962: Cement firm "Titan" began operations in Thessaloniki.
- 1964: Kostas Nestoridis - at age 34 - played the game of his life as AEK defeated Apollon Athens 7-1 at Rizoupolis Stadium. Nestoridis scored three goals with Spiros Pomonis and Lefteris scoring two each. The two scored by Turkish-Greek legend, Lefteris, were the last of his illustrious career.
- 1978: Greece trounced Finland 8-1 in a Euro 1980 qualifier as Thomas Mavros scored 3, Takis Nikoloudis and Giorgos Delikaris 2 each and Mike Galakos one.
- 2003: A pair of Siamese twins from Thessaloniki were successfully separated in Rome.
