  • December 5: Riots break out throughout Greece after a police officer shoots a 16-year old gypsy during a pursuit.
  • December 9: Greek MEP Eva Kaili is charged with corruption in a scandal probe concerning Qatari bribery.
  • December 13: The 16-year old gypsy, Kostas Frangoulis, dies from his wounds.
  • December 13: Eva Kaili is removed, by a near-unanimous vote, from her post as Vice President of the European Parliament.
  • December 24: Paphos Metropolitan George is elected Archbishop of Cyprus.
