- 380: Byzantine emperor Theodosius I issued an edict recognising Christianity as the official religion of the state.
- 1949: During the Greek Civil War, government forces discovered the secret location of the printing press of the communist newspaper "Morias".
- 1959: The Greek Parliament rejected by 170 to 117 the move to censure PM Constantine Karamanlis over his signing the Zurich and London agreements. ERE MPs applauded the result while Sophoklis Venizelos walked out of the chamber shouting "Long live Enosis!".
- Births: Fotis Pittas, EOKA fighter (1935)
- Deaths: Gregorios Staktopoulos, journalist convicted of the George Polk murder (1998).
