March 3: The general manager of Levadiakos, Kalomiris, is caught in the attempt to bribe the referee for the match between Levadiakos and Larisa.
March 15: Menios Koutsogiorgas resigns from the PASOK government in the aftermath of the Bank of Crete scandal.

April 14: It is discovered that Giorgos Koskotas hid $8 million of embezzled funds into secret Swiss bank accounts.

July 2: Tzannis Tzannetakis is sworn in as Prime Minister heading a curious coalition of conservatives and communists.

December 24: The Revolutionary Organization 17 November raids Sykouri army base in Larisa, Greece and steals a quantity of anti-tank rockets and ammunition.
