- June 24: Officers loyal to Theodoros Pangalos stage a coup. For the next two years, Pangalos will rule Greece by decree.
- June 28: The first ever Panathinaikos - Olympiakos soccer derby ends in a tie (3-3) at Leoforos

- July 14: Basil III is elected Ecumenical Patriarch.
- July 26: PAOK gives their first football match by defeating Iraklis in Thessaloniki with 2-1. The four-leaf clover, on the players' shirt, will be replaced by the two-headed eagle on 20/3/1929, when the team will merge with AEK Thessaloniki

- September 10: The first constitution of the Greek Republic is published and immediately goes into effect.

- November 27: Theodoros Pangalos tries to assert his authority by holding a publicly held hanging execution; Drakakos and Zafeiropoulos were executed for embezzling public funds.
