  • July 6: A powerful earthquake (6.6 on the Richter scale) strikes Achaea prefecture and the surrounding area.
  • July 14: Basil III is elected Ecumenical Patriarch.
  • July 26: PAOK play their first football match defeating Iraklis in Thessaloniki with 2-1. The four-leaf clover, on the players' shirt, will be replaced by the two-headed eagle on 20/3/1929, when the team will merge with AEK Thessaloniki

  • September 10: The first constitution of the Greek Republic is published and immediately goes into effect.
  • September 21: Greek authorities hunt down the bandit gang of Yiangoulas and Babanis.
