January 16: PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis nominates Hellenic Parliament Speaker, Konstantinos Tasoulas, as Greece’s next president.

January 26: Thousands of Greeks protest throughout the country and abroad demanding justice for the train crash of February 28, 2023 at Tempe.
January 31: Emmanouil Karalis breaks the Greek indoor record in the pole vault with a 5.90 performance.

February 4: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake strikes near Santorini. This earthquake is the strongest of the 550 tremors that have hit the area between Santorini, Amorgos and Ios over the past three days.
