- January 11: A ceasefire is agreed upon between the British and the forces of EAM-ELAS

- February 2: Negotiations begin at Varkiza between the government of Nikolaos Plastiras and the leadership of EAM.
- February 12: The Varkiza Agreement is signed - it was an agreement that terminated institutionally the political and military fighting of December 1944 ("December events") and aimed at reconciliating the opposite blocs of the country.
- February 21: Gen. Georgios Tsolakoglou is put on trial for treason, having surrendered the Greek Army in 1941 and serving as a quisling PM.
